Terrible Poet Journal
Just letting you know up front...
Just going to lead with the Terrible Poet title because it’s accurate.
It is what it is.
I deeply enjoy the creative process though and have no plans to stop writing poetry- or short stories and personal essays.
I created my Substack in June 2023 in the wake of my Mother’s passing. Engaging with creativity made all the difference in the grieving process for me.
So much to unpack there, for me anyway.
My mother and I were close, yet we still had a mother wound like so many of us do.
All of us do?
(I’ll tread easy when I write about the mother wound.)
After I created this account, it just sat. Collecting dust, shame on me.
Untouched, until another kind ss who writes Gothic Intimacies (you should follow/sub this ss, it’s a great read!) caught my attention and I gave it another look- Holy Cow!
There’s a lot we can do on this platform.
I had been having a new-found appreciation for the beauty and simplicity of newsletters in my inbox again over the last few months or so and decided to make a go of it here.
I maintain blogs outside of SS, I fancy this as the main hub for my thoughts behind everything. My writing journal. My thoughts on things I write about…
And poetry, there will be plenty of terrible poetry.
I would love to know your thoughts on these things too- I quite enjoy finding common threads with other people.
I’m not sure what specifically I’ll write about but feel it bubbling up into so many somethings as I type & already mentioned a couple in this first post revision.
I would be humbled and grateful if you subscribed and followed along with me.
May I prove myself ever worthy of my presence in your inboxes
Much love.
